Gilbert Maminot holds CUDHAM of the bishop. It is assessed at 4 sulungs. There is land for 10 ploughs. In

demesne are 4 [ploughs]; and 15 villans with 6 bordars have 6 ploughs. There is a church, and 11 slaves,

and 2 mills rendering 14s2d , [and] woodland for 40 pigs. TRE it was worth 20l ; and afterwards 16l ; now

24l.

The same Gilbert holds KESTON of the bishop. It is assessed at half a sulung. There is land [...]. In

demesne is 1 plough; and 4 villans with 1 plough. There is woodland for 5 pigs. TRE, and afterwards, it

was worth 60s ; now 40s. Esbiorn Bigga held it of King Edward.

Hugh nephew of Herbert holds 'SANDLINGS' [in St Mary Cary] of the bishop. It is assessed at 1 ½

sulungs. There is land [...]. In demesne are 2 ploughs; and 20 villans with 2 ploughs. There is a church,

and 9 slaves, and 6 acres of meadow and 20 acres of pasture, [and] woodland for 8 pigs. TRE it was

worth 8l ; and afterwards 6l ; now 8l. Bondi held it of the archbishop.

IN BROMLEY HUNDRED

Ansgot of Rochester holds BECKENHAM of the bishop. It is assessed at 2 sulungs. There is land for 8

ploughs. In demesne are 2 [ploughs]; and 22 villans with 8 bordars have 8 ½ ploughs. There are 12 acres

of meadow, and 4 slaves, and 1 mill, and woodland for 60 pigs. TRE, and afterwards, it was worth 9l ; now

13l. Eskil held it of King Edward.

Adam holds LEYBOURNE of the bishop. It is assessed at 2 sulungs. There is land [...]. In demesne are 3

ploughs; and 16 villans with 2 bordars have 7 ploughs. There is a church, and 10 slaves, and 1 mill

rendering 7s , and 12 acres of meadow, [and] woodland for 50 pigs. TRE it was worth 8l ; when received,

7l ; now 8l. Richard of Tonbridge holds in his lowy what is worth 24s. The king holds as a recent gift from

the bishop what is worth 24s2d. Thorgisl held this manor of Earl Godwine.

Ansketil holds ALLINGTON [near Maidstone] of the bishop.

Vitalis holds 'SIFFLETON' [in Ditton] of the bishop. It is assessed at 3 yokes. There is land for 1 plough. In

demesne [are] 1 ½ ploughs; and 6 villans with 1 bordar have half a plough. There are 6 slaves, and 1 mill

rendering 10s. There are 10 acres of meadow and 30 acres of pasture. TRE it was worth 40s ; when

received, 4l ; now 100s. TRE 2 men, Leofwine and Wulfwine, held this land in parage, and they could turn

where they wished with their land.

Ralph fitzTurold holds ECCLES of the bishop. It is assessed at 3 yokes. There is land [...]. In demesne is 1

plough; and 7 villans with 14 bordars have 1 plough. There is 1 slave, and 11 acres of meadow, [and]

woodland for 10 pigs. TRE, and afterwards, it was worth 3l ; now 4l ; what Richard holds in his lowy, 15d.

The king [has] as a recent gift from the bishop 8s5d , and in Rochester the bishop had 3 houses rendering

31d , which he took from this manor into his own hand. Æthelnoth Cild held this manor.

Bishop of Bayeux, and there is nothing there except 2 acres of meadow. It is and was always worth 10s.

Ralph fitzTurold holds ADDINGTON of the bishop. It is assessed at 2 ½ sulungs. There is land for 5

ploughs. In demesne are 2 [ploughs]; and 6 villans with 9 bordars have 1 plough. There is a church, and

10 slaves, and 2 mills rendering 11s2d , and 12 acres of meadow, [and] woodland for 10 pigs. TRE it was
