Local CrimesThis is an appeal for any information you may have regarding the armed robbery that took place at 0025 hours on the 5th August 2009 on Cackets Lane, Cudham, whereby 4 men, three white and one black stole £23590 from the property itself and threatened the residents inside. The crime reference number for this incident is 3317515/09. It is thought that another four or five people may have been waiting outside whilst this happened. What is of particular interest is that a vehicle involved in this incident was a blue Renault Clio; registration SA05XJV. If anyone you know seems to have come into a large amount of cash recently, we'd be interested to hear from you as well. 3316828/09 - Shed burglary overnight between the 27th and 28th July 2009 on Main Road, Biggin Hill. Suspect(s) broke into the shed and stole a lawnmower, a chainsaw and a generator. 3316861/09 - Stable burglary between 8.45pm and 9.45pm on the 27th July 2009 on Bombers Lane, Westerham. Suspects entered the yard and stole a range of riding accessories before making off across the fields. No saddles were stolen. 3317046/09 - Theft from a van at 10.30am on the 29th July 2009 on Jail Lane, Biggin Hill. The suspects have cut the catalytic converter from the van and left in an unknown direction. 3317231/09 - Theft from two vans between 10pm on the 29th July and 9am on the 1st August 2009 on Main Road, Westerham. Again the catalytic converters have been cut off both vehicles. No other details. Suspicious van reported - a blue and yellow Ford Transit van, registration BK51YMN. It was seen slowly crawling around the MoD estate just off Main Road, with two white males in the front looking into houses. A check on the registration comes back as 'no trace', which in simple terms means it doesn't exist. One to watch out for. ========== 3304897/09 Criminal Damage to Motor Vehicle on the 1/3/2009 between 8.40pm and 8.45pm in Cudham Lane North suspects smashed window of unattended vehicle parked on driveway when disturbed by car owner suspects decamped from the vehicle.3305226/09 Theft from Motor Vehicle. On the 7/3/2009 at approximately 4.30pm in Hazelwood Drive, Cudham victim left their handbag on the front seat of the car. When they returned to the vehicle they found the bag had gone and the front nearside window of car had been smashed. No other details3305300/09 Shed Burglary. On the 8/3/2009 in Main Road, Biggin Hill resident found their shed had been broken into and on closer inspection found a strimmer been taken. No other details3305302/09 Shed Burglary. On the 8/3/2009 in Main Road, Biggin Hill resident found that their shed had been broken into but nothing taken. No other details3305448/09 Shed Burglary. Between the 8th & 10th March 2009 in Main Road Biggin Hill. Suspects forced the shed door, removing the padlock to gain entry. Nothing taken no other details.3305377/09 House Burglary. On the 9/3/2009 at 5.30pm in Silverstead Lane, Cudham 4 white males between the ages of 17 & 19 years old were disturbed whilst breaking into the kitchen at location. Nobody was at home at the time. No property was stolen and the four suspects made off in the direction of Biggin Hill in a blue Toyota Corolla vehicle registration similar to S88UG23305944/09 Shed Burglary. Between the 14th & 16th March 2009 in Cudham Lane North suspect (s) gained entry by forcing open the shed door and stole bicycles from within. No other details3305848/09 Shed Burglary. Between the 14th & 16th march 2009 in Cudham Lane North Suspects broke into a shed and chicken coop. Nothing taken no other detailsSurrounding AreasThere has been an increase in the theft of number plates and theft from motor vehicles, right across the Tandridge borough. Police cannot be sure why these thefts are taking place but it could be to avoid the London congestion charges and speed camera tickets. Police are advising residents to protect their number plates with special security screws designed to make life difficult for potential thieves. Clutch-head screws can be easily fitted with a screwdriver to replace existing screws, but are incredibly difficult to remove. Reference TD/09/698 07/02/09-11/02/09 Greenway, Tatsfield. Offenders have broken into to a padlocked garden shed which is in the back garden of a house in Tatsfield. They have cut the padlock, probably with bolt cutters, and stolen a Stihl petrol chain saw, a Stihl petrol hedge trimmer and a stihl petrol leaf blower. They ignored the 2 lawnmowers a strimmer and a shredder. Nobody was seen and there is no CCTV or forensic evidence. Reference TD/09/761 13/02/09- 14/02/09 Westerham Rd, Oxted. A rural home in Westerham Rd has had both its garden sheds broken into. They have gone into the back garden and broken the padlocks to both sheds. They have then stolen a Garden Shredder, a Karcher pressure washer and a Honda rotary mower, all of which are petrol driven. They have had so suspicious visitors and the house itself is alarmed. They do have security lights but unfortunately these weren’t working.
